We're socialized to do 4 main things with emotions:
  1. RESIST.  

People confuse resisting with feeling.

Resisting is like holding the door shut with all your strength.

Resisting emotion is the reason you feel exhausted much of the time.

 2. REACT. 

When you react by yelling, screaming, becoming defensive (like a porcupine) or crying, it may seem like feeling, but it's not.

Feeling doesn't look like acting in a dramatic play.

 3. AVOID. 

Society has made avoiding feelings easy and socially acceptable.

The main numbing behaviors are overeating, overdrinking, overscrolling, overworking and isolating.

 4. PRETEND. 

You're taught that being happy is the goal of life.

Therefore, negative emotions mean either something has gone terribly wrong or there's something wrong with you.

You hide your emotions behind pretty masks in order to fit in, pretend you're "normal" and make others comfortable.

This illusion has grown dramatically due to the rise of social media.

What is Doodle Your Emotions™?

Doodle Your Emotions™ is a guided three-day online workshop experience that helps you build emotional awareness using simple doodles, words, and color.

It combines simple creativity, life-coaching tools, cognitive-behavioral concepts, empowering questions, and mindfulness.

You’ll begin with a welcome experience and guided warm-up lesson, followed by two live workshop sessions.

Some students use Doodle Your Emotions™ alongside therapy, but it is not therapy.

Just as you brush your teeth for dental hygiene, you can use Doodle Your Emotions™ as a practical tool for everyday emotional hygiene.

Who is the workshop for?

Doodle Your Emotions™ is for anyone who wants a simple, practical way to become more aware of what they are feeling and understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

It may be especially helpful if you journal, read personal-growth books, meditate, or have done other inner work but still feel stuck when emotions actually show up.

The principles can benefit both adults and younger learners, no matter where they are in life.

When is the workshop?

Three-Day Workshop Schedule

Tuesday, July 14:
Welcome experience, private workshop-page access, and guided warm-up lesson.

Wednesday, July 15 at 12pm Central Time:
Live workshop session.

Thursday, July 16 at 12pm Central Time:
Live workshop session.

Central Time is the same time zone as Chicago.

Don’t worry if you can’t attend live. The replay will be posted after each live session, and you’ll have 10 days of replay access.

How long are the live workshop sessions?

Each live workshop session is approximately 60–75 minutes.

Please allow a little additional time in case Maritza stays to answer questions or share important next steps.

How much is the workshop?

The Doodle Your Emotions™ Workshop is regularly $97.

What if I don’t know what I’m feeling?

That is completely okay—and it is one of the reasons people join Doodle Your Emotions™.

You do not have to arrive already knowing exactly what you feel. The workshop will introduce simple tools that can help you slow down, notice what is happening inside you, and begin putting your experience onto the page.

What if I’m not creative or can’t draw?

You do not need artistic talent. If you can draw a stick figure, make a mark, or scribble an imperfect shape, you can participate.

Doodle Your Emotions™ is not about producing impressive artwork. The simple drawings help you see and explore what is happening inside you.

Your doodles do not have to be pretty or perfect. Maritza will guide you through the process step by step.

Do I need to purchase a lot of art supplies?

No. You can participate with a piece of paper and a pen, pencil, markers, crayons, or supplies you already have at home.

If you would like to use watercolors, an inexpensive children’s set will work beautifully. You’ll receive a simple recommended supply list after you enroll.

How long will I have access to the workshop replays?

You’ll have access to the Doodle Your Emotions™ workshop replays for 10 days.

We’ve found that a clear replay deadline helps participants make time for the experience instead of allowing it to become unused “shelf help.”

How will I receive the optional checkout add-ons?

If you add the Three Warm-Up Doodle Tutorials or the digital PDF edition of the Heartwork Journaling book to your order, access will be delivered to the email address you use when enrolling in Doodle Your Emotions™.

Please note: The Heartwork Journaling book offered at checkout is the digital PDF edition. A physical book will not be shipped.

Is this therapy?

No. Doodle Your Emotions™ is an educational personal-growth workshop designed to help you build emotional awareness and self-leadership.

Some people use the tools alongside therapy or other professional support, but the workshop is not therapy and is not a substitute for medical or mental-health care.

Is the workshop closed-captioned?

Yes. The live workshop sessions are closed-captioned, and you can toggle the captions on or off.
